Crimping
The crimping section begins with a special fiber orientation machine. With 4 sections and a total of 8 motors (4 top and 4 bottom), thanks to a special PLC adjustment of the speed ratio between each section, we manage to change the orientation of the fibers and thus improve the mechanical properties of the final product.
Orientation of the fibers in the vertical position increases mechanical compressive strength and delamination strength. After leaving the machine, the stone wool has 5 to 10 times greater tensile strength. This is a very important quality for the stone wool used for exterior insulation of buildings. At the same time, the crimping machine reduces the thickness of the secondary felt and brings it closer to the required by the curing oven thickness.
After that, the stone wool is ready to enter into the next important section - the curing oven.
